About Us

Reaching Our Youth Upstates, Inc. was originated in 2009 as an organization created to assist middle school and high school students in our community and prepare them for college. We found much success with that as many of the students that we have previously tutored have moved on to attend college, graduate college or even start there own businesses.

It is when we learned all the details of enrolling into college that we realized that college enrollment actually starts in elementary school and how each child performs on a yearly basis determines their future success. We learned that our children have a voice. We learned that they have a perspective on what education is versus what education is promoted to be to determine how they succeed. We learned that they have opinions. We learned that other factors affect their learning and we made it our aim to focus on these concerns, so that the flow into college or other future successes isn't so difficult.

In 2012, we incorporated the addition of servicing elementary school children as well as directing upper high school children in making last minute decision for their future. Thus, Reaching our Youth-Upstate has grown to extend our variety servicing and make ourselves available to children of all ages, from the perspective presented to us by them, for them. We are the voice of our children.
